The doctors can help you achieve a healthy and safe blood pressure level by giving advice on lifestyle changes, prescribing appropriate medications. The nurse can follow up and check your blood pressure.
Maintaining a good level of blood pressure is important to reduce the cardiovasular risk and other complications.
This is an assessment done to check your risk of having a heart attack, stroke or any other vascular event. This is done by asking you several questions, taking basic recordings and by doing a blood test.
We will enter these data into our calculator and get a score, which gives us your risk. There are other more effective ways of calculating your risk, but you will need to discuss this with your doctor.
Nurses will send you a reminder when you are due for this. You can do a blood test and make an appointment with your doctor/nurse for a checkup.
Everyone should get a check up and a blood test yearly after the age of 35 years.
All women who have ever been sexually active should have regular cervical smear tests every three years between the ages of 25 and 69. The smears will detect atypical cells. If these are left untreated can lead to a cervical cancer.
Very often these cells are made abnormal by a human papillomavirus (HPV) which is a sexually transmitted virus. Regular tests and treatment reduces the likelihood of this sort of cancer by around 90%.
You can book with our nurses for a smear. You will be notified by a text message when you are due.

If you are on Warfarin (Blood thinner) for a special medical condition, You are required to do a regular blood test to check its level (INR). You will have lab test form with you to give it to the lab when you are doing it. You will always keep a copy of it to present to the lab. You will have to keep your INR at a specific range, eg 2 to 3 or 2.5 to 3.5, depending on your health condition. If it s too low then the medicine will not give you enough effect and if its too high, it will increase your chances of a significant bleed. Therefore it is important to check it regularly.
