Migrant / Refugee Health

There is a growing population of Refugee groups in New Zealand. Experiences before migration has lead to high health needs on arrival. Long term physical and psychological trauma has lead to poor health outcomes. Adapting to a different lifestyle and additional financial issues will contribute to delayed seeking healthcare.

We as doctors should identify these group of people and encourage them to stay healthy and screen for diseases.
