I was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to New Zealand as a child in 1994. I did my medical training at the University of Otago, graduating in 2015. Following this, I moved to Auckland, completing my junior doctor years at Auckland City Hospital and then had a focus on emergency medicine, working in the various emergency departments across the city.
In 2020, I transitioned to general practice, driven by an interest for working within the community and focusing on the prevention of health problems. I’m currently in the General Practice Training Programme and joined Three Kings A&M in early 2024. I love the incredibly supportive team we have here and the diversity of patients we have the privilege of serving. I’m grateful for the opportunity general practice provides to collaborate with people on a variety of health issues, and I have particular interests in nutrition and women’s health. Outside of medicine I enjoy traveling, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time in nature.
