An ECG is a recording of your heart’s electrical activity. Electrodes are placed on your chest to detect the electrical activity and recorded in a strip of paper. This takes less than 5 minutes and gives useful information about the size of the heart, rhythm of the heart and sometimes about lack of oxygen to the heart muscle. This is also important to check for few other medical conditions, electrolyte disturbances and side effects of medications.
